ISO 28000

The standard which determines the requisites for an Supply Chain Security Management System (SCSMS).

ISO Standard 28000:2022 is the standard that sets the requirements for a Security Management System (SEMS), taking into consideration various security aspects and threats such as terrorism, fraud, counterfeiting of a product, and supply chain security to mitigate events such as piracy or geopolitical alterations. It is an internationally recognized certifiable standard that defines the requirements for implementing a Security Management System.

ISO 28000:2022 requires that aspects of physical, information technology, organizational (human resources), transportation and logistics security be considered. Crucial aspects to be considered include: manufacturing, packaging processes, warehousing, logistics and goods transfer, information and human resource security, and site security.

The standard is applicable to companies of all sizes (from the smallest to multinationals) involved in the production, design and manufacture of high value-added products, warehousing and transportation/logistics services.
